5. Response time: The response time of incandescent lamps is in milliseconds, and the response time of LED lamps is in nanoseconds.
6. Environmental pollution: no harmful metal mercury.

Color: Changing the current can change the color, and the light-emitting diode can easily adjust the energy band structure and band gap of the material through chemical modification methods to realize red, yellow, green, blue, and orange multicolor light emission. For example, when the current is small, the LED is red, and as the current increases, it can be orange-yellow and finally green.
8. Price: The price of LEDs is relatively expensive. Compared with incandescent lamps, the price of several LEDs can be equal to the price of one incandescent lamp. Usually, each group of signal lights needs to be composed of 300-500 diodes.
Application of LED
At first, LED was used as an indicator light source for instruments and meters. Later, LEDs of various light colors were widely used in traffic lights and large-area display screens, resulting in good economic and social benefits.
